Lets introduce the game of the year.

Type - Documentary / Interview

Purpose - The launch of PAYDAY 3 was getting near so this web series purpose was to inform and to manage the expectation up until the release.

My Role - Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor.

Approach - Together with the community team we made a structure that followed a red thread together with the over all marketing plans. Making sure that different things was mentioned at the right time. 

Headhunting participants in their respective areas such as animation, design, sound, in game economics and so on.

To give the viewer a first hint of the game look we decided to place the participants in a specific level in the game by using green screen.

Accomplishment - We gave the community a glimpse of the game that they hade’t seen before. By showcasing and talking about the game we managed to soften the expectation.

9 episodes, 74 minutes, over 950K views on YouTube.

This was my first big project at Starbreeze. The pitch was to have a video series that would span from June to the launch in September 2023. The videos purpose was to inform and managed the expectation for the launch of PAYDAY 3.

The team consisted of me, a copywriter/intervjuer, assisting cameraman, a makeup artist and a freelancer who did the greenscreen key and final colour grading.

My task (together with the copywriter) to find interesting topic and a captivating narrative structure. To make the series touch all the parts of the game we narrow it down to 9 episodes with the topic being.

  4. Art & Animation

  5. Heists

  6. Skills & Progression

  7. Customization

  8. Narrative & Sound

  9. Launch

Having the pre-production done we entered production and started shooting the interview which would take place at the office and spann over 4 days recording 2 sessions every day.

In post-production I handled all the raw editing and then our freelancer did the greenscreen keying, final sound and colour grade.

One key takeaway by working on this project is how to manage the workflow and how long things kan take. Now I am much more aware on all that.
